New York Air Brake is seeking a Supply Chain Intern seeking a degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. You can expect challenging work and an insiders view into your future profession. You will work as an individual and as part of a project team, while receiving regular feedback in preparation for a final presentation to company leaders.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Analyze and Identify Improvement Opportunities in the Buyer/Planner transactional activity

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager to create reporting tools and charts to trend Demand.

  • Turn and Inventory Control performance

  • Analyze Materials Storage Areas in Warehouse and on Production Floor for identification of reduction of IWD and resolution of back flushing issues.  


 


Required Skills:



  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Good organizational and communication skills

  • Resourceful - not intimidated by large assignments

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, professional environment and multi-task

  • Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic and have strong people skills


 


Required Experience:


Education: Business, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.


General:



  • Hours: 40 hours/week

  • Location: Watertown, NY (72 miles NE of Syracuse, 29 miles south of The Thousand Islands, 30 miles south of the US/Ontario, Canada border)

  • Pay Rate: $15.75-$20.00/hr., depending on academic class


 


 


WHAT WE OFFER

Our internships are not all work. NYAB is located in Watertown, New York. When not working, spend your free time hiking the Adirondack Mountains, kayaking the many waterways, enjoying the beaches of Lake Ontario or exploring the history, food and fun the Thousand Islands Region has to offer. You are just a short drive to World Class Casino’s, Golf, Shopping and the award winning Finger Lakes Wine Country. Our interns begin work as early as the end of May and work up until the middle of August. Expect 40 hours per week and a competitive salary (based on experience and position) of up to $20 per hour. You will take part in special events, & outings, take advantage of wellness & workout programs in our fitness facility or join the lunchtime kickball league. There is something for everyone as a summer intern.
