POSITION SUMMARY
The Tasting Room Lead will be highly skilled at sales and guest service, balancing the delivery of a gracious experience for all guests with effective team leadership.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
This position will work closely with the Manager to provide tasting room staff with guidance and leadership while also being the voice of the front-line team, vocalizing potential concerns when necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Point of contact in Manager's absence
Lead by example and come to work with a service heart
Motivate team to meet and exceed goals
Notify Manager of maintenance issues and upkeep in tasting room
Maintain clear and open communication with Tasting Room Manager
Review reports and analyze data capture as needed
Responding to all emails and voicemails in a timely manner
Greet all visitors and pour wines for tasting
Create a memorable experience for guests
Sell wine and wine club memberships based on monthly goal
Describe wines and winery history; answer visitorsβ questions about wines
Provide general tourist information
Assist with special events as needed
Represent winery at outside functions as needed
Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of winery and its wines
Prepare food for wine pairings when necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
All other duties as assigned
3+ yearsβ experience in a sales and hospitality environment
Evidence of superior sales performance preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems
Must be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks at once
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Professional appearance and demeanor
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in an evolving environment with enthusiasm

SALARY RANGE: $25/hour DOE
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location within the US. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, internal equity and alignment with market data.
